“Tonn Teaspaigh agus Dánta Eile” booklaunch

It was our great pleasure to launch the latest poetry collection by Ailbhe Ní Ghearbhuigh – Tonn Teaspaigh agus Dánta Eile – at Oireachtas na Samhna 2022. Ailbhe enjoyed a double success at the Oireachtas Literary Awards, a few days earlier, winning both the Poetry Ireland Award for Best Poem and Gradam na mBord Oiliúna agus Oideachais for Best Poetry Collection.

The celebrated Irish poet Dairena Ní Chinnéide shared a brilliant, considered and insightful reading of the collection. The artist Kim Sharkey, whose stunning understated illustrations are included in the book, was also present for the launch.

It was fitting for a poetry collection so centred on motherhood, that both of Ailbhe’s daughters were at the launch, along with Ailbhe’s mother, Heléne, and her husband Billy Ramsell.
