The book is rich in social history of Gaoth Dobhair and Donegal during the early part of the 20th century. It tells the story of a young man in Goath Dobhair who is forced to seek out a new living in New York. The author shares with us a wealth of idioms and locutions of North west Donegal that is rare to find now.
The new edition has been edited to use a more modern orthography making the work more accessible to new audiences.
The book also contains two short stories and a play.
